Machinery Shanghai: Shanghai Plant Launched
On April 26 the opening ceremony was held at
the new production site of Ube Machinery
(Shanghai), Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Ube Machinery.
In June 2001 Ube Machinery (Shanghai) was
established in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone,
where it imports and sells manufacturing
equipment such as die-casting machines, injection
molding machines, extrusion presses, and vertical
mills, in addition to providing after-sales
service. The newly-opened plant will produce
midsize die-casting machines, completing the
development of an integrated Chinese business
network with production, marketing, and support
services.
Ube's die-casting machines, extrusion presses,
injection molding machines, and vertical mills
command a leading share of the world market.
Around the globe, American subsidiary Ube
Machinery Inc. (UMI) has manufactured die casting
machines and injection molding machines since
1996. Ube Machinery (Shanghai) joins UMI to
complete the second stage of our three-part
corporate strategy for a worldwide stance. The
company forecasts sales in the range of 2.3
billion yen in 2002.
Present to celebrate at the commencement
ceremony were 120 Shanghai business leaders and
representative officers of industrial equipment
users, as well as Chairman Kaoru Hirotsu, and
Director of Accounting Yamamoto of Ube Industrial
Machines (Shanghai) and President Wakabayashi.
The opening coincided with an international
die-cast expo held in Shanghai from April 25 to
28, with many participants visiting the Ube
die-casting machines showcased.
